Apr 15, 2021

April 2021 is on track to be the biggest Child Abuse Prevention Month Lane County has ever seen. We’re gearing up to make a splash not only with pinwheel gardens and blue ribbon trees but with a range of new ways to get out the message about prevention, including:

  • Colorful (and huge) ads on LTD buses that call on all of us to get involved in protecting children.
  • A banner over Mohawk Blvd. in Springfield highlighting April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
  • “Child Abuse is Preventable” coasters, designed by the Students Against Child Abuse UO student group, at local venues like Planktown, Bier Stein, J. Scott Cellars, and The 3 Legged Crane Pub.
  • Bumper stickers and trendy water bottle or laptop stickers that you can put nearly anywhere.

All these exciting new plans will also support 5,000 Strong, the major fundraising and awareness campaign Friends of 90by30 is kicked off in April.

5,000 Strong aims to bring together 5,000 Lane County residents to support 90by30’s mission of preventing child abuse and neglect. Your support can come in the form of a financial donation, by liking us on Facebook or Instagram, or by signing up for our e-letter. Check out the Friends website for more info on how you can join this group of change-makers – and receive your free 5,000 Strong sticker! (Check out the design at left.)
