OCAPS in the News

28 Jan 2020

The Oregon Child Abuse Prevalence Study (OCAPS), the Center for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect's survey that aims to get an accurate picture of abuse and neglect rates by interviewing high school students, was in the news recently in this piece on Portland-area NBC station KGW8. The station's "Straight Talk" segment focuses on House Bill 4112, which contains funding for CPAN to expand the Lane County OCAPS pilot statewide. The bill also includes increased funding for Children's Advocacy Centers in the state and supports full implementation of Erin's Law, which requires all public schools to adopt prevention-oriented child sexual abuse programs. We're excited to follow this bill through the legislative short session that starts on February 3!
